SERVICE 02 / CONTRACTING READINESS
CONTRACTING READINESS.
Many businesses are capable of the work long before they are ready to compete for it. Readiness means knowing what buyers will ask for, having the evidence organized, and a plan for the gaps.
WHAT READINESS MEANS
Buyers ask for the same kinds of things in different forms: who you are, what you have delivered, who will do the work, which licenses, insurance and registrations you hold, and how you will run the contract. A company that has this organized can respond in days. A company that does not starts every opportunity by searching old files.
Contracting readiness puts that foundation in place, and shows plainly what is still missing for the opportunities you want to pursue.
WHAT THE WORK INCLUDES
- Organizing company capability information into a maintained, reusable set
- Gathering project experience and references into evidence a buyer can follow
- Collecting personnel qualifications and resumes in a consistent format
- Listing the prerequisites that typically apply, such as registrations, licenses, insurance and bonding, and noting which you hold
- Identifying gaps between what target buyers ask for and what you can show today
- A practical readiness action plan with owners, order and dates
- Reviewing a particular solicitation's requirements against your current position
FOR SMALLER BUSINESSES APPROACHING SUITABLE OPPORTUNITIES
Smaller businesses often have strong delivery records that are simply not written down. We help turn that experience into evidence, explain how public and larger commercial buyers usually evaluate submissions, and point toward opportunities of a sensible size, including subcontracting to a prime, where that fits better than bidding directly.
The aim is a realistic path: the first opportunities worth pursuing, and what to put in place before the larger ones.
WHAT YOU SUPPLY AND DECIDE
Your team supplies the facts: company records, project details, staff information and the status of registrations and licenses. DueStar organizes, checks for consistency, asks the questions and writes up the evidence. You confirm what may be used and decide which gaps to close.
HOW WE WORK WITH YOUR TEAM
The expertise comes from DueStar; the facts, decisions and approvals stay with you. Work is coordinated through a shared client portal where your team sees what needs its input, shares documents and reviews drafts. The portal supports the engagement and is not sold separately. You can use this service on its own or with other DueStar services, as a defined project, ongoing scoped support or alongside your existing team.
DueStar does not provide legal or procurement-law advice and does not guarantee eligibility, registration or certification approval. Those decisions rest with the relevant authority or buyer. Scope and fees are agreed before work starts.
EVERY WIN HAS A DUE DATE.
Tell us what you are pursuing, where the uncertainty sits and what decision comes next. We will discuss whether DueStar can help and agree a practical scope of work.
